An award winning project, the Ventilation Building No. 7 was built to supply fresh air to and exhaust polluted air from the new Ted Williams Tunnel. A cathedral to air, as it has been called, this truly colossal building, was built to last out of concrete and steel. Despite its size, however, the architectural concrete and state-of-the-art rain screen panel system that give it its exterior appearance is handsomely detailed.
Ricardo Romão-Santos was field architect on this project while employed with Stull & Lee, Architects and Planners.
